Shipper/Hauler Guidelines

Definitions
DogHaulerUSA – a website service that allows members to search and connect Shippers with Haulers for the purpose of arranging private contracts for the transportation of dog and puppies.
Member – A person with an active membership to DogHaulerUSA. Inactive or cancelled members, or persons for whom DogHaulerUSA has terminated their membership, are not members.
Hauler – A member representing as an individual seeking to haul dogs through private agreement with a Shipper (Owner).
Shipper – A member representing as an owner of a dog needing transportation
General
- Members are bound to the site “Terms of Use” for DogHaulerUSA.com (see Dog Hauler USA Terms of Use)
- Members are solely responsible for any and all agreements they enter into with other members. This includes any and all agreements, arrangements, or contracts for hauling or transporting dogs or other animals, or any other agreements members may enter into as a result of connecting through DogHaulerUSA.
- DogHaulerUSA is not responsible for the transportation, hauling, care, health, condition, or custody of any animal handled or transported as a result of using this site.
- DogHaulerUSA is not responsible for the collection, holding, handling, or payment of any monies or other consideration associated with any private agreement by and between Shippers and Haulers.
- Shippers assume full responsibility for evaluating, selecting and entering into a private contractual agreement with Haulers.
- Haulers assume full responsibility for evaluating, selecting and entering into a private contractual agreement with Shippers.
- DogHaulerUSA reserves the right to terminate membership of any member it believes or considers to have violated this Agreement.
Guidelines for Shippers
- You are responsible for evaluating and selecting Haulers with whom you choose to engage to transport your dog(s).
- You are responsible for accepting the terms and conditions of any private agreement you accept to have your dog(s) hauled by the Hauler.
- You are solely responsible for paying the Hauler per your private agreement between you and the Hauler.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the person receiving the dog(s) you are shipping has been given the Hauler’s contact information, and their expected date/time of arrival.
- Puppies should be at least 8 weeks of age before being transported.
- You are responsible for ensuring that each dog you ship is in good health and condition at the time you release them to the Hauler for transportation.
- You should provide the Hauler the following for each dog being shipped:
- A leash and collar, and/or kennel carrier
- Proof of current vaccination, including rabies (copy to be carried by Hauler)
- Adequate bedding plus extra bedding in case the dog gets sick.
- Food for the trip (plus extra in case of unplanned delays in route)
- Full contact information, including emergency phone numbers, of the person receiving the dog(s) at their final destination.
- Optional – a supply of water that the dog is used to consuming.
Guidelines for Haulers
- You are responsible for evaluating and selecting Shippers with whom you choose to haul their dog(s).
- You are responsible for the terms and conditions of any private agreement you accept to haul dogs (or other animals) for the Shipper.
- You are responsible for ensuring that you receive from the Shipper the contact information, including emergency phone numbers, of the person receiving the dog(s) being shipped.
- You are responsible for determining the date/time you plan on delivering the dog(s) to their final destination.
- You should call the Shipper at least once per every 24 hours while in transit to provide an update on the transportation of their dog(s).
- You should immediately notify the Shipper in the event of accident, major delay in route, or other emergency affecting, or that may affect, the dog(s) you are transporting.
- You should not transport Puppies under 8 weeks of age.
- The Shipper should provided you with the following for each dog you agree to haul:
- A leash and collar, and/or kennel carrier
- Proof of current vaccination (copy to be carried by Hauler)
- Adequate bedding plus extra bedding in case the dog gets sick.
- Food for the trip (plus extra in case of unplanned delays in route)
- Full contact information, including emergency phone numbers, of the person receiving my dog(s) at their final destination.
- Optional – a supply of water that the dog is used to consuming.
- While dogs are in your custody, you should:
- Stop every two hours to give the dog(s) a short bathroom break and fresh water.
- Provide food as per the Shipper’s instruction (amount, frequency, etc.).
- Never let the dog(s) have contact with other dogs, pets, or animals (for health considerations).
- Never let the dog(s) run loose under any circumstances.
- Change bedding if it becomes soiled.
- Notify the Shipper immediately if there is any problem or concern about the dog(s).
